I (briefly) had a blonde '62 Johnny Smith Natural and it looked and sounded dreamy!

I had high hopes for my '62 JS when I got it. The 3" body depth, the slightly shorter (than an L5 or Super 4) scale of 25", and the 1 3/4" nut all really appealed to me. The guitar played pretty well after a nice refret job, but somehow the tone never quite lived up to my expectations. Lost a little bit of money when I resold it, too (the only guitar I ever lost money on, and I've wheeled and dealed a lot). Oh well.

Thanks. I wish I'd had some photography skills (and something better than a Polaroid instant camera) back in those years. So many guitars I miss now, and never even took pictures of...
